In Memory of my Mom

Honoring my mom’s life by continuing her work of creating opportunities and supporting the next generation.

ABOUT JANETT ADAMS

A life of purpose, advocacy and community.

My mom was born in the capital of the Bolivian Amazon. Her life was shaped early by loss, but she built a future through determination, education, and an unstoppable drive to create opportunities for others.

She became a trailblazer in media, culture, and community organizing in Wilmington, North Carolina, founding La Prensa de las Carolinas, Radio Mazima, Cape Fear Latina and the Azalea Latino stage. Her legacy lives on through the work of American Bolivian Collective and this scholarship in her name.
